In a report to the city council, councillor Maureen Cummings said: “The IDVA will be present to support victims whilst the police deal with the perpetrator. It is hoped that by putting the victim at the centre of the service, this will encourage the victim to seek help.”

The advisors are able to refer people to the Wakefield District Domestic Abuse Service.
The scheme is run with support from domestic abuse charity Staying Put and the city council.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
