[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]West Midland police officers dipped into their own pockets and paid for 300 chocolate eggs to be given to children spending Easter in domestic abuse refuges in Birmingham and Solihull.
Maureen Connolly, CEO of Women’s Aid which runs the shelters, said: “Wonderful donations like these help children and their mums know others are thinking of them and help us create a positive and happy experience for them.”
West Midlands Police made more than 1,500 referrals to the charity last year.
Of the 52,363 domestic abuse and violence incidents reported in the 12 months to March 2017, just 5,323 resulted in charges and 4,203 in individuals being prosecuted.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
