[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Home Office is looking to recruit a domestic abuse commissioner to stand up for victims and survivors, provide public leadership on the matter and drive authorities’ response to issues.
The commissioner will be expected to give recommendations to the government and local bodies on how provisions could be improved and highlight where best practice is taking place.
At this stage the appointee will be a designate commissioner, but placed on a statutory footing once the Domestic Abuse Bill passes through Parliament.
The position was created ahead of the Bill’s introduction to ensure the government’s response to all domestic abuse matters is as robust as possible, the Home Office said.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
