The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) has been shortlisted alongside large global legal practices for the 2019 Law Society’s Excellence Award for Pro Bono Services in recognition for its work with victims who cannot obtain legal aid and cannot afford a solicitor.
Mark Groves, CEO of the NCDV, said: “I am extremely proud that we have been recognised by the Law Society for our work. This year we will help about 3,000 victims of domestic abuse and violence that would otherwise not have any help and I cannot thank our fantastic team enough for the support they give and the commitment they make.”
The centre exists to help those who cannot obtain legal help because their financial circumstances preclude them from the legal recourse they deserve.
The Law Society’s judges will be looking for examples of innovation and best practice, and credit will be given to work having a strategic impact in a community and/or the organisation’s overall engagement.
The awards will be presented on 23 October. NCDV was granted an excellence award in 2015 for its client services.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
