{"id":5087,"date":"2023-10-25T13:15:39","date_gmt":"2023-10-25T13:15:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ncdvmagazine.co.uk\/?p=5087"},"modified":"2023-11-29T10:52:09","modified_gmt":"2023-11-29T10:52:09","slug":"slew-of-arrests-in-oldham-domestic-abuse-crackdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ncdvmagazine.co.uk\/slew-of-arrests-in-oldham-domestic-abuse-crackdown\/","title":{"rendered":"Slew of arrests in Oldham domestic abuse crackdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greater Manchester Police (GMP) arrested 33 people for domestic abuse-related offences during a week of action in Oldham with support organisations such as the independent domestic violence advisor (IDVA) service.<\/p>\n<p>In one callout to a woman who reported domestic abuse the skill of an officer and IDVA enabled crucial evidence being obtained from a victim who potentially would not have come forward, the <em>Manchester Evening News<\/em> reported detective inspector Zad Latiff as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The 33 arrests clearly convey the police\u2019s zero-tolerance stance towards domestic abuse, said chief superintendent Phil Hutchinson of GMP\u2019s Oldham district.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in region, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncdvmagazine.co.uk\/da-car-patrols-streets-of-wigan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">police car dedicated to attending<\/a> domestic incidents as they are reported is now operating in Wigan.
