[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Humberside police officers will start wearing body cameras later this year, following a successful trial in Hull, to help combat domestic abuse.
Assistant chief constable Chris Noble said: “The biggest motivation for rolling out this technology is to support victims – especially victims of domestic abuse.”
A total of 1,700 officers will be trained to use the equipment and 1,500 cameras distributed across the force area, the Hull Daily Mail reported.
There were 1,598 prosecutions for domestic abuse crimes in Humberside last year, an increase of 25% on the year before.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
